1 Corinthians 11

  11:1   3402 μιμηταί [²mimics 1473 μου ³of me 1096 γίνεσθε ¹Become], 2531 καθώς as 2504 καγώ even I 5547 χριστού of Christ!   11:2   1867-1161 επαινώ δε But I praise 1473 υμάς you, 80 αδελφοί brethren, 3754 ότι that 3956 πάντα in all things 1473-3403 μου μέμνησθε you have remembrance of me. 2532 και And 2531 καθώς [⁴as 3860 παρέδωκα ⁵I delivered 1473 υμίν ⁶to you 3588 τας ²the 3862 παραδόσεις ³traditions 2722 κατέχετε ¹Hold].   11:3   2309-1161 θέλω δε But I want 1473 υμάς you 1492 ειδέναι to know, 3754 ότι that 3956 παντός [⁶of every 435 ανδρός ⁷man 3588 η ⁴the 2776 κεφαλή ⁵head 3588 ο ¹the 5547 χριστός ²Christ 1510.2.3 εστι ³is]; 2776-1161 κεφαλή δε and the head 1135 γυναικός of the woman 3588 ο is the 435 ανήρ man; 2776-1161 κεφαλή δε and the head 5547 χριστού of Christ 3588 ο   2316 θεός is God.   11:4   3956 πας Every 435 ανήρ man 4336 προσευχόμενος praying 2228 η or 4395 προφητεύων prophesying 2596 κατά [²on 2776 κεφαλής ³his head 2192 έχων ¹having anything], 2617 καταισχύνει disgraces 3588 την   1438 εαυτού his own 2776 κεφαλήν head.   11:5   3956-1161 πάσα δε And every 1135 γυνή woman 4336 προσευχομένη praying 2228 η or 4395 προφητεύουσα prophesying 177 ακατακαλύπτω with uncovered 3588 τη   2776 κεφαλή head, 2617 καταισχύνει disgraces 3588 την   2776-1438 κεφαλήν εαυτής her own head; 1520 εν [³one 1063 γαρ ¹for 1510.2.3 εστι ²it is] 2532 και and 3588 το the 1473 αυτό same 3588-3587 τη εξυρημένη as having been shaven.   11:6   1487-1063 ει γαρ For if 3756 ου [²be not 2619 κατακαλύπτεται ³covered up 1135 γυνή ¹a woman], 2532 και also 2751 κειράσθω let her be shorn! 1487-1161 ει δε But if 149 αισχρόν it be shameful 1135 γυναικί for a woman 3588 το   2751 κείρασθαι to be shorn 2228 η or 3587 ξυράσθαι shaven, 2619 κατακαλυπτέσθω let her be covered up!   11:7   435 ανήρ [³a man 3303 μεν ²indeed 1063 γαρ ¹For] 3756-3784 ουκ οφείλει ought not 2619 κατακαλύπτεσθαι to be covered 3588 την of the 2776 κεφαλήν head, 1504 εικών [²an image 2532 και ³and 1391 δόξα ⁴glory 2316 θεού ⁵of God 5224 υπάρχων ¹being]. 1135-1161 γυνή δε But a woman 1391 δόξα [²a glory 435 ανδρός ³of man 1510.2.3 εστιν ¹is].   11:8   3756-1063 ου γαρ For not 1510.2.3 εστιν is 435 ανήρ man 1537 εκ of 1135 γυναικός the woman, 235 αλλά but 1135 γυνή the woman 1537 εξ of 435 ανδρός man.   11:9   2532 και   1063 γαρ For 3756 ουκ [²was not 2936 εκτίσθη ³created 435 ανήρ ¹man] 1223 διά on account of 3588 την the 1135 γυναίκα woman, 235 αλλά but 1135 γυνή the woman 1223 διά on account of 3588 τον the 435 άνδρα man.   11:10   1223 διά Because of 3778 τούτο this 3784 οφείλει [³ought 3588 η ¹the 1135 γυνή ²woman 1849 εξουσίαν ⁵the authority 2192 εχείν ⁴to have] 1909 επί upon 3588 της   2776 κεφαλής her head 1223 διά on account of 3588 τους the 32 αγγέλους angels.   11:11   4133 πλήν Furthermore 3777 ούτε neither 435 ανήρ is man 5565 χωρίς separate from 1135 γυναικός woman, 3777 ούτε nor 1135 γυνή woman 5565 χωρίς separate from 435 ανδρός man 1722 εν in 2962 κυρίω the Lord.   11:12   5618-1063 ώσπερ γαρ For as 3588 η the 1135 γυνή woman is 1537 εκ of 3588 του the 435 ανδρός man, 3779 ούτω so 2532 και also 3588 ο the 435 ανήρ man 1223 διά is through 3588 της the 1135 γυναικός woman; 3588 τα   1161 δε but 3956 πάντα all things 1537 εκ are of 3588 του   2316 θεού God.   11:13   1722 εν Among 1473-1473 υμίν αυτοίς you yourselves 2919 κρίνατε judge! 4241-1510.2.3 πρέπον εστί Is it becoming 1135 γυναίκα [²woman 177 ακατακάλυπτον ¹for an uncovered] 3588 τω   2316-4336 θεώ προσεύχεσθαι to pray to God?   11:14   2228 η Or does 3761 ουδέ not even 1473-3588-5449 αυτή η φύσις nature itself 1321 διδάσκει teach 1473 υμάς you 3754 ότι that 435 ανήρ a man 3303 μεν indeed 1437 εάν if 2863 κομά should have long hair, 819 ατιμία [²a dishonor 1473 αυτώ ³to him 1510.2.3 εστί ¹it is]?   11:15   1135-1161 γυνή δε But a woman, 1437 εάν if 2863 κομά she should have long hair 1391 δόξα [²a glory 1473 αυτή ³to her 1510.2.3 εστίν ¹is it]; 3754 ότι for 3588 η the 2864 κόμη hair of the head 473 αντί instead of 4018 περιβολαίου a wrap 1325 δέδοται is given 1473 αυτή to her.   11:16   1487-1161 ει δε But if 5100 τις anyone 1380 δοκεί thinks 5380-1510.1 φιλόνεικος είναι to be contentious, 1473 ημείς we 5108 τοιαύτην [³such 4914 συνήθειαν ⁴a custom 3756 ουκ ¹do not 2192 έχομεν ²have], 3761 ουδέ nor 3588 αι the 1577 εκκλησίαι assemblies 3588 του   2316 θεού of God.   11:17   3778-1161 τούτο δε But in this 3853 παραγγέλλων exhorting 3756-1867 ουκ επαινώ I do not praise you, 3754 ότι for 3756 ουκ [²do not 1519 εις ⁴for 3588 το ⁵the 2908 κρείττον ⁶better 235 αλλ΄ ⁷but 1519 εις ⁸for 3588 το ⁹the 2276 ήττον ¹⁰worse 4905 συνέρχεσθε ¹you ³come together].   11:18   4412 πρώτον [³first 3303 μεν ²indeed 1063 γαρ ¹For] 4905-1473 συνερχομένων υμών in your coming together 1722 εν in 1577 εκκλησία assembly, 191 ακούω I hear 4978 σχίσματα of splits 1722 εν [²among 1473 υμίν ³you 5224 υπάρχειν ¹existing], 2532 και and 3313-5100 μέρος τι partly 4100 πιστεύω I believe it.   11:19   1163-1063 δει γαρ For must 2532 και [²even 1722 εν ⁴among 1473 υμίν ⁵you 139 αιρέσεις ¹sects 1510.1 είναι ³be], 2443 ίνα that 3588 οι the ones 1384 δόκιμοι approved 5318 φανεροί [²apparent 1096 γένωνται ¹should become] 1722 εν among 1473 υμίν you?   11:20   4905 συνερχομένων [²coming together 3767 ούν ³then 1473 υμών ¹In your] 1909-3588-1473 επί το αυτό in the same place, 3756-1510.2.3 ουκ έστι is it not 2960 κυριακόν [²the Lord's 1173 δείπνον ³supper 2068 φαγείν ¹to eat]?   11:21   1538-1063 έκαστος γαρ But each 3588-2398 το ίδιον [²his own 1173 δείπνον ³supper 4301 προλαμβάνει ¹first takes] 1722 εν in 3588 τω the 2068 φαγείν eating, 2532 και and 3739-3303 ος μεν one 3983 πεινά hungers, 3739-1161 ος δε and another 3184 μεθύει is intoxicated.   11:22   3361-1063 μη γαρ For do 3614 οικίας [²houses 3756-2192 ουκ έχετε ¹you not have] 1519 εις for 3588 το the 2068 εσθίειν eating 2532 και and 4095 πίνειν drinking? 2228 η Or 3588 της [²the 1577 εκκλησίας ³assembly 3588 του   2316 θεού ⁴of God 2706 καταφρονείτε ¹do you disdain], 2532 και and 2617 καταισχύνετε disgrace 3588 τους the ones 3361 μη not 2192 έχοντας having? 5100 τι What 1473-2036 υμίν είπω should I say to you? 1867 επαινέσω Shall I praise 1473 υμάς you 1722 εν in 3778 τούτω this? 3756 ουκ I do not 1867 επαινώ praise.   11:23   1473-1063 εγώ γαρ For I 3880 παρέλαβον took 575 από from 3588 του the 2962 κυρίου Lord 3739 ο what 2532 και also 3860 παρέδωκα I delivered up 1473 υμίν to you, 3754 ότι that 3588 ο the 2962 κύριος Lord * Ιησούς Jesus, 1722 εν in 3588 τη the 3571 νυκτί night 3739 η in which 3860 παρεδίδοτο he was delivered up 2983 έλαβεν took 740 άρτον bread;   11:24   2532 και and 2168 ευχαριστήσας having given thanks 2806 έκλασεν he broke it, 2532 και and 2036 είπεν said, 2983 λάβετε Take 2068 φάγετε eat, 3778 τούτό this 1473-1510.2.3 μου εστι is my 3588 το   4983 σώμα body 3588 το   5228 υπέρ [²for 1473 υμών ³you 2806 κλώμενον ¹being broken]; 3778 τούτο this 4160 ποιείτε do 1519 εις in 3588 την   1699 εμήν my 364 ανάμνησιν remembrance!   11:25   5615 ωσαύτως Likewise 2532 και also 3588 το the 4221 ποτήριον cup, 3326 μετά after 3588 το   1172 δειπνήσαι having supper, 3004 λέγων saying, 3778 τούτο This 3588 το   4221 ποτήριον cup 3588 η [²the 2537 καινή ³new 1242 διαθήκη ⁴covenant 1510.2.3 εστίν ¹is] 1722 εν in 3588 τω   1699 εμώ my 129 αίματι blood; 3778 τούτο this 4160 ποιείτε do 3740 οσάκις as often as 302-4095 αν πίνητε you should drink 1519 εις in 3588 την   1699 εμήν my 364 ανάμνησιν remembrance!   11:26   3740-1063 οσάκις γαρ For as often as 302-2068 αν εσθίητε you should eat 3588 τον   740-3778 άρτον τούτον this bread, 2532 και and 3588 το   4221-3778 ποτήριον τουτο [²this cup 4095 πίνητε ¹should drink], 3588 τον the 2288 θάνατον death 3588 του of the 2962 κυρίου Lord 2605 καταγγέλλετε you announce 891 άχρις until 3739 ου of which 302 αν ever time 2064 έλθη he should come.   11:27   5620 ώστε So that 3739 ος who 302 αν ever 2068 εσθίη should eat 3588 τον   740-3778 άρτον τούτον this bread 2228 η or 4095 πίνη should drink 3588 το the 4221 ποτήριον cup 3588 του of the 2962 κυρίου Lord 371 αναξίως unworthily 1777-1510.8.3 ένοχος έσται will be liable 3588 του of the 4983 σώματος body 2532 και and 129 αίματος blood 3588 του of the 2962 κυρίου Lord.   11:28   1381 δοκιμαζέτω [²let ⁴prove 1161 δε ¹But 444 άνθρωπος ³a man] 1438 εαυτόν himself, 2532 και and 3779 ούτως thus 1537 εκ [²of 3588 του ³the 740 άρτου ⁴bread 2068 εσθιέτω ¹let him eat], 2532 και and 1537 εκ [²of 3588 του ³the 4221 ποτηρίου ⁴cup 4095 πινέτω ¹drink]!   11:29   3588-1063 ο γαρ For the one 2068 εσθίων eating 2532 και and 4095 πίνων drinking 371 αναξίως unworthily, 2917 κρίμα [⁴judgment 1438 εαυτώ ⁵to himself 2068 εσθίει ¹eats 2532 και ²and 4095 πίνει ³drinks], 3361 μη not 1252 διακρίνων discriminating 3588 το the 4983 σώμα body 3588 του of the 2962 κυρίου Lord.   11:30   1223 διά Because of 3778 τούτο this 1722 εν [²among 1473 υμίν ³you 4183 πολλοί ¹many] 772 ασθενείς are weak 2532 και and 732 άρρωστοι ill, 2532 και and 2837 κοιμώνται [²gone to sleep 2425 ικανοί ¹a fit amount].   11:31   1487-1063 ει γαρ For if 1438 εαυτούς [²ourselves 1252 διεκρίνομεν ¹we examine 3756 ουκ ⁴not 302 αν   2919 εκρινόμεθα ³we should] be judged.   11:32   2919-1161 κρινόμενοι δε But being judged 5259 υπό by 3588 του the 2962 κυρίου Lord 3811 παιδευόμεθα we are corrected, 2443 ίνα that 3361 μη [²not 4862 συν ⁴with 3588 τω ⁵the 2889 κόσμω ⁶world 2632 κατακριθώμεν ¹we should ³be condemned].   11:33   5620 ώστε So that, 80-1473 αδελφοί μου my brethren, 4905 συνερχόμενοι coming together 1519 εις for 3588 το the 2068 φαγείν eating, 240 αλλήλους [²one another 1551 εκδέχεσθε ¹let us look out for]!   11:34   1487-1161 ει δε But if 5100 τις anyone 3983 πεινά hungers, 1722 εν [²in 3624 οίκω ³his house 2068 εσθιέτω ¹let him eat]! 2443 ίνα that 3361 μη [²not 1519 εις ⁴for 2917 κρίμα ⁵judgment 4905 συνέρχησθε ¹you should ³come together]. 3588-1161 το δε And the 3062 λοιπά rest 5613-302 ως αν whenever 2064 έλθω I should come 1299 διατάξομαι I shall set in order.
